Boost Mobile RockCorps Launch Party

June 7, 2006 - Boost Mobile RockCorps, the national youth volunteerism movement that motivated more than 6,000 young people to get out and get involved in their community last year, launched its 2006 campaign with a bang at the Midtown Loft in NYC. The founders of the BMRC along with their 2006 host Nick Cannon, and the perennial Trap-Star Young Jeezy, took the stage to help bring awareness to the “NOW generation” about the importance of volunteering in their communities.

The premise behind Boost Mobile RockCorps is, “Got 2 Give 2 Get.” Volunteers from 8 major cities across the country will clock in 4 hours of their time to community service, ultimately landing them a ticket to an exclusive concert (volunteers only). BMRC brought serious heat last year with performances by platinum selling artists the likes of Paul Wall, Lil’ Jon, T. I., Kanye West and so many more.

But joining BMRC is about more than being a part of one of the best and biggest Hip Hop concerts of the year; it’s about getting the youth in our communities involved and in-touch with their neighborhoods, and feeling like they are a part of the larger picture. “To see people building up their communities is amazing,” says the entertainment triple-threat, Nick Cannon. “We are all we got. If you feel better about your community, you feel better about yourself. I feel that Boost Mobile RockCorps has given the Hip Hop community an extraordinary way to give back. Anyone who gets involved with this movement will come out a better person for it; and will also be more likely to want to volunteer again.”

Here is the list of cities and dates that the Boost Mobile RockCorps will embark on this summer:
